York Stone Thefts

Good Morning Resident,

If you are a member of the local Darwen Noticeboard on Facebook, you may have seen that there has been numerous reports of the theft of York stone coping stones in the Belgrave area of Darwen .

Neighbourhood officers are looking into these reports to try and find CCTV etc of the offenders .

If your property has the York stone in place ,please take the time to look at the security of these items and to see if the security could be increased by cementing any loose stones in for example .

There are items on the security market that allow you to place a unique liquid (code) on the stones that are similar to DNA and therefore there are no other items with the same code and this would help in identifying any items that maybe recovered 

If you search the internet for ‘Smart Water’ this is the system that the police have used previously .
